The film follows Violet, Lola, and Clara through their relentless dedication over several years of rehearsals, live shows, and backstage jitters. Woven throughout is a rich inter-generational conversation between the band, Tegan & Sara, Jordan Miller (The Beaches), Leah Fay Goldstein (July Talk), Jasmyn Burke (Jasmyn, Weaves) and more, reflecting on girlhood, live performance, mentorship, and the realities of building a life in the music industry.
Thunder Queens is a portrait of young women artists turning the volume all the way up, finding power in connection, and making the stage feel possible for younger girls coming up behind them.

About the Filmmakers
Dustin Seabrook and Tobin J. Stewart are Guelph, Ontario–based filmmakers whose work grows out of long relationships with collaboration, community, and process-driven storytelling. They are the co-founders of Analog Child, a production studio dedicated to character-driven nonfiction filmmaking. Dustin and Tobin strive to learn in action, earning trust and working closely with their subjects to capture the story arcs of their lives. Thunder Queens marks their debut feature.
